September 4, 2011 Seed Bird Feeder
my sister went to the store yesterday and seen a bird food thing. its more like a treat. it has a whole bunch of seeds in something really sticky that almost looks like peanut butter. we want to give it to her but we’re not sure if we should because we dont know if its okay to give a parrot something wild birds would usually eat.

Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.
No do not feed your Parrot Wild bird food there is no nutritional value in the seeds that it contains, most wild bird food is made up of Old seed Wheat etc.which is of no use to your bird ,also Wild bird food does not go through the same cleaning process as Parrot food , so you could cause problems with it.
It’s not ok to feed your parrot wild bird food or treats. They contain too much animal fats and are were meant for wild birds needing a high fat high carb food. Caged birds don’t need this. Also the preservatives in wild bird treats is very high.
There are several message boards able to help you with your parrot. I would suggest joining all of them as each one has a different ‘flavor’ and level of friendliness but all have members with decades of experience living with parrots.
